      NA62 results and plans

The NA62 experiment at CERN collected a large sample of in-flight K+ decays during Run 1 (2016–2018) and resumed data taking in 2021, with operations foreseen through 2026. Using data collected between 2016 and 2022, NA62 has achieved the first observation of the ultra-rare decay K+ → π+νν with a significance exceeding 5σ. This talk presents highlights of recent and preliminary NA62 results based on data collected up to 2024, including precision studies of rare and radiative kaon decays The excellent kinematic reconstruction, timing resolution, and trigger performance of the NA62 detector enable effective background suppression and high-precision measurements. Results from searches for physics beyond the Standard Model using kaon and pion decays are also presented.

Speaker: Prof. Lazzeroni Cristina (University of Birmingham, UK)
